This is my left eye. Four years ago I was struck by a plastic shard, scarring my iris. Had the piece impacted a millimeter to the right I would have been instantly blinded, according to my physician. Fate may have spared my sight for the time being, but in the time that has elapsed my vision has been afflicted, deteriorating with time. They tell me there will come a day, years, decades from now, when I will no longer be able to see.
